Overcoming the Ground Clearance Challenge

Since the introduction of the first Unibody designs (Camaro, Cougar, Falcon, Firebird, Mustang) most featured a single cross-mounted rear muffler. This was necessary due to limited ground clearance. This design features multiple pipe bends which are more restrictive.

Enthusiasts have attempted to improve the performance with true dual exhaust and mufflers mounted beneath the rear seat.  This configuration with most aftermarket mufflers leads to ground clearance problems.  If this is your challenge, Texas T/A Mufflers is your solution.  Our standard Texas T/A Mufflers measure 3 1/4 inches tall, affording up to 1 1/2 inches extra ground clearance over other aftermarket mufflers.

Texas T/A Muffler measurements:
3.25" Thickness x 9.25" Width x 12.125" Length

Texas T/A Mufflers Installed

Rick from Highland Daytona Racing talks about the Texas TA Mufflers.  It seems the Satchell Link Suspension system that they manufacture takes even more room beneath the unibody rear and leaves no room for full bodied performance mufflers.  Rick shows us how the Texas TA Mufflers fit the suspension system with plenty of pipe clearance.

" I put the mufflers and tips on last week-end. SOUNDS great, and you can see that the mufflers hide up under the car a lot better than any other models..." - James H. from Houston, Texas
