Improving Your Vehicle's Performance

One of the most time and cost efficient way of improving your vehicle's horsepower is to reduce the restriction of the exhaust system.  A less restrictive true dual exhaust pipe system is a good first start.*

Most stock F-Body cars came with 2 inch pipe.  Experience in building street cars has shown us that 2.5 inch pipe from the exhaust manifold back to the muffler improves low end torque while maintaining the backpressure required for the exhaust valves. Additionally a 1.75 inch "H" pipe connecting the lead pipes between the transmission and the cross-member improves performance as well. "X" shaped connecting pipe can be used instead of the "H", but the performance difference in legal street driving is un-noticeable and can double the price of the installation.  From the muffler back to the exhaust tips 2.25 inch pipe can be used for easier mandrel bends to clear the axle.

The challenge comes in fitting the mufflers under the floor pan below the rear seat.  Standard mufflers are much to large, so for years the "turbo muffler" has been an acceptable compromise but they are too tall for the location and somewhat restrictive.  Our dual chamber muffler is designed to return two pulses (per exhaust stroke) to the back of the exhaust valves.  These pulses help to scavenge exhaust gas from the cylinder.  The more exhaust gas that can be removed from the cylinder on the exhaust stroke, the more efficient the burn of the fuel/air mixture on the combustion stroke.
