American Beauty  1999 Kevin Spacey and Annette Bening Lester Burnham quits his job, black-mails his boss, and trades in his Camry.  CAROLYN: "Who's car is that out front?"  LESTER: "Mine.  1970 Pontiac Firebird.  The car I always wanted and now I have it.  I rule!"  The original script reads 1972 Pontiac GTO.  Read more about the car here.
American Wedding 2003 Jason Biggs, Molly Cheek, Alyson Hannigan, January Jones, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Seann William Scot, Eddie Kaye Thomas Stiffler drives a Black 1979 Special Edition Trans Am to Jim and Michelle's Wedding
Best of the Best 2  1993 Has a few brief scenes with a black 1976 Trans Am.
Billy Madison  1995  Adam Sandler  Billy pulls up to his old high school wearing an REO Speedwagon shirt, driving a '79 Trans Am with fuzzy dice and playing Billy Squire's "The Stroke" on the stereo.
Blue Thunder  1983  Roy Schieder  During most of the film Roy's ride is a helicopter but he flies through the streets in a 1980 or 1981 Turbo Trans Am.
Breakdown  1997  Kurt Russell and Kathleen Quinlan  One of the bad guys drives a 1977 red Trans Am, which gets flipped and blown up near the end of the movie.
Bullitt  1968 Steve McQueen  Contains scenes with a white 1967 or 1968 Firebird.
Cannonball  1976 David Carradine  The movie about the famous coast to coast race. One of the cars is a 1973 Trans Am.
Car Crash  1980  A low budget Italian movie with a red 1973 Trans Am and a black 1977 or 1978 Trans Am.
Corvette Summer  1978  Mark Hamill, Annie Potts and Danny Bonaduce  Kenny's effort to recover the stolen auto shop class project car culminates in a car chase with a black Firebird.
The Color of Night  1994  Bruce Willis and Jane March  Bruce gets chased by a red 1977 or 1978 Trans Am.
That Darn Cat  1997  A Disney Film with a red 1978 Trans Am wearing an ice cream cone on the roof.
Dazed and Confused 1993 Ben Affleck, Milla Jovovich, Matthew McConaughey This High School movie features some great 60's & 70's era muscle cars including a red 1973 TA (with mid 80's Camaro wheels) and a white 1974 Trans Am SD-455.
Demon Knight  1995  A "Tales From the Crypt" film. Has a brief scene with a 1977 or 1978 Trans Am.
Detroit Rock City 1999 Edward Furlong, Giuseppe Andrews Four High School friends have a run-in with a disco double-date in a 1978 gold SE Trans Am on the way to a KISS concert.
Devil's Advocate  1997  Al Pacino and Keanu Reeves Has a brief scene with a blue 1968 Firebird Convertible.
The Driver  1978 Ryan O'Neal O'Neal's character chases a modified 1976 Trans Am until it flips to its destruction.  The film also has a brief scene with a 1977 Firebird
Enemy of the State  1998  Gene Hackman and Will Smith The bad Guys chase Smith's character in a red 1970 Firebird with Formula hood.  A contributor tells us it's the same car later used in American Beauty
Firebird 2015 A.D.  1981 Features a blue 1980 Turbo Trans Am.
Gone in 60 Seconds 1974 H.B. Halicki Brief shot of a black 1973 Ram Air Formula at the car wash, when one of the thieves comes to pick up Lyle Waggoner's Ferrari.
Gone in 60 Seconds 2000 Nicolas Cage, Angelina Jolie and Robert Duvall Otto's barbecue grill is made from the front clip of a '68 Firebird.
Highlander  1986  Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery  A brief scene with a 2nd generation Firebird that has a '79 to '81 front clip with a formula hood, Trans Am hood bird and Trans Am fenders but a '76 to '78 tail.
Hooper  1978  Burt Reynolds and Sally Field  A 1978 Trans Am gets converted to a rocket car.
The Hunter  1980 Steve McQueen  McQueen plays Papa Thorson, a modern-day bounty hunter
with a love of antique toys and Tchaikovsky.  He rents a 1979 Trans Am which gets stolen and blown up by dynamite.
The Jaws of Satan  1981  Contains a scene with a red 1979 Trans Am.
The Jerk  1979  Steve Martin and Bernadette Peters Steve drives a modified yellow and brown 1979 Trans Am at one point in the movie.  There is also a brief scene with a red 1967 or 1968 Firebird.
Kill Bill 2 2004 Uma Thurman, David Carradine, Michael Madsen, Daryl Hannah, Lucy Liu Elle (Hannah) drives a '79 Black and Gold Special Edition (non WS6 wheels) to visit Bud.  In the ORIGINAL script the Trans Am is T-BONED, "FLIES through the air, then ROLLS OVER AND OVER about five times in the desert sand and dirt...ending upside down."
McQue  1974  John Wayne Wayne's character drives a 1973 Brewster Green Trans Am that gets crushed between two trucks.
Monster  2003 Charlize Theron, Christina Ricci and Bruce Dern Theron's highway hooker character Aileen Wuornos kills her "John" and drives off in his Trans Am.
Old School 2003 Luke Wilson, Will Ferrell and Vince Vaughn Frank's (Ferrell) "Red Dragon" is a 1978 Trans Am.
One Night at McCool's 2001 Liv Tyler and Matt Dillon Jewel (Tyler) arrives at McCool's in a 1978 gold Firebird.
No Looking Back  1998 Jon Bon Jovi and Lauren Holly Lauren Holly's Ride throughout the film is a 1977 Firebird with a Trans Am hood and shaker scoop.
Payback 1999 Mel Gibson, Greg Henry and Maria Bello A heist split goes bad and Val leaves in Porters red 1977 Trans Am.
The Presidio  1988  Sean Connery, Mark Harmon and Meg Ryan A yellow 1977 or 1978 Trans Am gets painted blue after being involved in a hit and run.
Poltergeist 1982 Craig T Nelson, JoBeth Williams Near the end of the film, Dana's boyfriend drops her off at the house in a red 1979 Trans Am.
The Real McCoy  1993  Kim Bassinger and Val Kilmer Val is a getaway driver who's car of choice is a 1978 Trans Am.
Rocky II  1979 Sylvester Stallone  Rocky drives a 1979 black special edition Trans Am.  It is a 403/Automatic car without the WS6 option.
Shaker Run  1985 Cliff Robertson and Lief Garrett Blast through New Zealand in a highly modified 1979 to 1981 Trans Am.
Short Circuit 1986 Ally Sheedy, Steve Guttenberg The robot, Johnny Five, disassembles a red 1976 Trans Am belonging to Stephanie's boy friend.
Smokey and the Bandit  1978  Burt Reynolds, Sally Field and Jackie Gleason The star Firebird of this film is a 1976 black Trans Am outfitted with a '77 nose and '77 "Special Edition" features.  Pontiac's Promotions Department provided about seven of them for the filming.
Smokey and the Bandit II  1980  Burt Reynolds, Sally Field and Jackie Gleason This time the film features a black Special Edition 1980 Turbo Trans Am.
Son in Law  1993  Pauly Shore, Tiffany Amber Theissen There is a brief scene where Tiffany Amber Theissen drives a black 1979 Trans Am.
There's Something About Mary 1998 Cameron Diaz, Matt Dillon, Ben Stiller Owner of a maroon '79 Trans Am helps Mary's brother look for his baseball.
Thunderbolt and Lightfoot 1974 Clint Eastwood,  Jeff Bridges and Catherine Bach Bridges' character "test drives" a 1973 white Trans Am with a red shaker scoop.  He and Clint Eastwood fail to return it.
Up the Creek 1984 Features a 1979 Tenth Anniversary Trans Am.
White Men Can't Jump  1992  Wesley Snipes, Woody Harrelson, Rosie Perez Has a brief scene with a 1979 to 1981 Trans Am.
The Wraith  1986  Charlie Sheen A 1977 or 1978 Trans Am with a blower and a "whale tail" rear spoiler is wrecked about half way through the movie.
