1a. There isn’t a car guy out there who hasn’t heard an urban legend
or two about some unbelievably rare and ridiculously cheap muscle car. The
story should go something like this: This guy died in a Ram Air 4 Judge
convertible that was buried in a snow bank the stench from his rotting body was
so bad that the car couldn’t be sold and was given to a charity it’s now being
driven around Wichita Falls by a homeless family with no sense of smell.
Does the story usually have an air of truth to it? Of course. But with
every one of these stories there is one thing missing that could silence the
detractors photos (Ed. Note: TXTA photographers are currently searching for the
homeless people in the Judge convertible). This story is different in a
couple of key respects. First, I have plenty of photos of the $500 ’69
Trans Am, and the family driving around in it are in Waxahachie.
Enough joking around here’s the real story. In early 1980 I was a 22 year-old sailor stationed on a ship in San Diego. My buddies and I enjoyed drinking cheap beer while watching (female performance artists). We soon realized that San Diego had a dearth of affordable entertainment like that, so we headed 20 miles south to Tijuana, Mexico. Read the rest of Alex's story

1b. Hi, I'm Michael from Germany.
It's a very, very great site....I love it. My dream car, for the past 10 years, has been a '79 Trans Am. But in Germany I have not found it yet. I'm a big, big Trans Am fan and I hope I can buy one in the next few years. Your pictures of restorations are nice. If I come to USA, I visit you in Texas...it would be a great honor for me!!!! T/A-Fan: Michael Thanks for your letter Michael, all we can say is "kühl".

3. New, re-production, and discontinued
parts
Texas TA Mufflers
We are an authorized distributor of Phoenix
Graphics.
Recently we took in a restoration refugee from
Florida. Among other things the decals were ruined. Even Bryan from
Phoenix Grafix concurs that someone soaked them in water first before taking the
paper backing off. These are not like the decals that come with model
cars. It's a little different process and at almost 16 square feet (2,304
square inches) of vinyl, a slightly different technique.
Original parts available:
AC Delco AM/FM 8 Track Tape
player
6X 4 heads, street ported
Freshly rebuilt turbo for a 301 (a $600 to $700
service)

"Top 100 Muscle Car Sites"
Blah Blah Blah...
Someone tipped us off to the new
Muscle Car Topsites,
and it took 3 whole days to be
ranked #1. But it needs more listings. It used to have great
graphs that showed visitors by day, but it hasn't worked in
weeks.
David's e-mail:
We fired AOL, so please address e-mails to david@texastransams.com.
Question of the month: Do you have any perfect dash
pads for a second generation Firebird?
Answer: No. You won't find a perfect 24+ year
old dash pad from a daily driver south of the Mason Dixon line. One
solution is to order a dash pad cover for $100 from us.
Another solution is to send your original off to
Just Dashes to be completely reconditioned for a little over $700.
Runner up question: Do you
have any perfect seats I can just bolt in?
Answer: No. However, we can recondition
yours, or provide the seat frame. We can also recover the seat
frames with new vinyl covers or reproduction
camel hobnail.
"Hey to everybody there at TexasTransAm this is Goose
(Chris). Yeah the trip down to Texas was alright but on the way back it
was better. I learned one thing, if a guy in a parking lot asks you for a
screw driver always have the tool box buried under a bunch of stuff because
there are a few crazy people in Texas. Well just thought I would let
you know that me and Kevin made it back OK, but up on the turnpike in Kansas Kevin said he seen some pretty weird s***. Later on, and have a blast working on cars." Thanks Goose,
see you in Joplin. Editors note: When strangers ask if I have a
screwdriver, I tell them that I would, if I could just find the orange
juice. Sometimes, I pretend to speak Norwegian.
