+ + + + +

1a. Dano, from South Carolina drove in to visit.
He was in the Midwest for business and took a short 600 mile detour by Fort Worth on his way back. A little over 2 years ago, David helped him find his own old dream to restore. The car has been dismantled, painted and the frame reinstalled. Now for the first time, Dano got to meet David and see his new car. The picture says it all.

Alex from Ohio is staying in Oklahoma City, OK for 2 months of training, and has been spending Saturdays at the shop with us. Alex is the new owner of the Rare Mayan Red 1979 Formula 4-Speed that will soon get underway in the shop.

Our friend Chris Anderson has been called to active duty in the Construction Battalion of the Navy and leaves the weekend of April 5. Restoration of his 78 T/A will go on hold for now. We pray that by the time he arrives,
that he will be involved in the reconstruction of a free and democratic Iraq.

"It is the soldier, not the reporter who gave us freedom of the press.
It is the soldier, not the poet who gave us freedom of speech.
It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protestor to burn the flag."

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the brave young men and women of America who are now in the battlefront defending freedom. May they come home, honorably and victoriously before we have been apart from them too long, and may they all come home safely into the arms of those who love and miss them.

1b. W.W.B.D?
What would Beelzebub drive, or rather what would his driver drive? BMW Films answer: A 1976 Trans Am. When James Brown revisits the dark prince to re-negotiate his "Deal" his driver, in the new Z4, winds up racing to "Beat the Devil" in his custom painted '76 TA featuring what else but, flames.

2. "Membership has its' privileges"
Welcome back everyone, and a special greeting to "nate1379" and "Atkinson27" who just became our 214th and 215th members on the same day, of 26 new members this Month. I had no idea how large the distribution of this newsletter would become when we started it one year ago in April 2002. As the Newsletter Editor and Webmaster, I look for trends in email, membership profiles and keyword searches to tune the website to our visitors wants and needs. I commented several months ago to David that a noticeable number of subscribers were Female. As of publication date, of those with Yahoo profiles, 16 subscribers are Women, 37 are Men. David said "If the Trans/Am restoration thing doesn't pan out we can always start a dating service for people interested in second generation Firebirds." The next best thing.. Chat.

Newsletter subscribers will get first notice on rare parts and new Project Cars.

- 1974 Buccaneer Red T/A 455. This survivor RUNS and DRIVES. Straight body, very little rust. Needs complete interior. Recently rebuilt Pontiac 455 features nasty cam, Holly 850 Carburetor, aluminum Edelbrock performer intake, 6x heads, aluminum high rise valve covers, honeycomb wheels.

- 1977 Firebird black with yellow flames and snorkel.
It has a sunroof and good seats. Good body, needs engine. This car is desperately looking for a "B" movie to star in. "Hooper 2003"? The snorkel and paint job alone is worth an extra 100 HP, even without an engine.

1981 Firebird V6 parts car. Perfect doors.

If you are interested in one of these great project cars, call David at 817-563-2121

They are up to 1 1/2 inches lower in profile than other popular performance mufflers.

I finally got done with the exhaust on my 78 T/A. I love the way the mufflers Sound. I stayed with the stock size exhaust pipes, it still sounds good.  I changed my mind about selling the car now. I turned down $7,500 for it from a friend. He found nice 78 T/A that needs some work. He asked about were I got my mufflers from so I gave him your web page.

David's e-mail
David gets HUNDREDS of e-mails each month and tries his best to respond in a timely manner, but sometimes it takes a few days to research the answer and find time to respond. Remember if all else fails and it's an emergency give us a call at 817-563-2121. Due to the proliferation of computer virus we don't open e-mail attachments, unless we are expecting the attached file, and know it's purpose. If you must send an attachment, please call us first so we can make room on the server. The best way to share images with us is to FTP the file to your personal web space and include the URL in the e-mail message. Like this:

8. At the shop recently...

We shipped a set of re-machined 8-inch Snowflake wheels, freshly painted and clear coated, but the most unusual thing shipped recently was a pair of rear frame rails.

Larry A.'s TA:: The new bushings are completed the roll cage is being installed.

Dano's TA:: Now that the body shell is painted the progress increases.
The frame rails are installed with new body bushings, the front and rear suspension and brake parts are coated with POR15. The axle and springs are installed with new bushings and new fuel and brake lines from Inline Tube.
